Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Phartramol Forte is a fixed-dose combination analgesic developed and marketed by Laboratorio Pharmedic, primarily for the Central American market. It contains 37.5 mg of tramadol hydrochloride and 325 mg of paracetamol (acetaminophen). Tramadol functions as a centrally acting synthetic opioid analgesic that binds to mu-opioid receptors and weakly inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin. Paracetamol provides complementary analgesic and antipyretic effects, likely through the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system. This combination is indicated for the symptomatic management of moderate to severe pain and associated inflammation, offering a synergistic effect that allows for effective pain relief with lower doses of the individual components.
