Overview
PHEC-66 is a standardized cannabis extract primarily being developed for the treatment of melanoma. It exerts its anti-tumor effects by inhibiting the viability of various melanoma cell lines, including MM418-C1, MM329, C32, and D24, through the induction of apoptosis and modulation of cell survival pathways. Research has demonstrated that PHEC-66 can have nuanced interactions with conventional chemotherapy; it shows potential additive effects when combined with auranofin or docetaxel, but may exhibit antagonistic effects when paired with cisplatin. The extract's mechanism of action is thought to involve the endocannabinoid system and the regulation of DNA damage responses and intracellular signaling. It is currently in the preclinical stages of development.
