Overview

Phenazine-35 is a discontinued small molecule antineoplastic agent that was developed by ABC Holding, an American company formerly based in Missouri (the parent of ABC Laboratories). It belongs to the phenazine-1-carboxamide chemical class, which is known for potent antitumor activity. The drug's mechanism of action involves intercalating into DNA and inhibiting DNA topoisomerase II, thereby preventing DNA replication and inducing cell death in cancerous tissues. Phenazine-35 reached Phase I clinical trials in the mid-1990s for the treatment of various solid tumors before development was discontinued by the sponsor. Due to the age of the project and the subsequent acquisition of the developer, detailed clinical data remains sparse.
