Overview

Phenglutarimide is a small molecule anticholinergic agent primarily used for the prevention and treatment of motion sickness and vestibular disorders. It acts as an antagonist at muscarinic acetylcholine receptors in the central nervous system, thereby suppressing the vestibular system's response to motion and inhibiting the vomiting reflex. In China, the drug is developed and marketed by companies including Beijing Huasu Pharmaceutical and Beijing Hwellso Pharmaceutical under the brand name Feisaile (飞赛乐). While historically used in other regions for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, its current clinical focus in the Chinese market is the management of motion-induced vertigo and nausea.
