Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PHH-1V81 is a recombinant protein subunit vaccine developed by HIPRA as a booster against SARS-CoV-2, specifically adapted to the XBB.1.16 (Arcturus) variant. The vaccine utilizes a fusion homodimer platform of the Receptor Binding Domain (RBD) of the spike protein, which is designed to elicit a robust neutralizing antibody response. This candidate is an adaptation of HIPRA's earlier bivalent vaccine (Bimervax) to address the evolution of the virus toward Omicron sublineages. It is formulated with HIPRA's proprietary oil-in-water adjuvant, SQBA, to enhance immunogenicity and provide broader protection against circulating variants.
