Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Phlebotroy QPS is a topical heparin sodium solution (1000 IU/ml) developed by Troikaa Pharmaceuticals using its proprietary Quick Penetrating Solution (QPS) technology. The QPS platform utilizes non-aqueous and non-volatile solvents along with permeability enhancers to facilitate the transdermal delivery of heparin across the skin barrier. As an anticoagulant, heparin sodium works by potentiating antithrombin III, which subsequently leads to the indirect inhibition of thrombin (Factor IIa) and Factor Xa, thereby preventing blood clot formation. It is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of superficial thrombophlebitis, particularly post-injection inflammation of the veins. Clinical studies have demonstrated that Phlebotroy QPS provides a significant reduction in venous lesion length and higher rates of phlebitis resolution compared to conventional heparin gels.
