**pHLIP ICG** is an investigational near-infrared fluorescence imaging agent comprising a pH-Low Insertion Peptide conjugated to indocyanine green. The peptide preferentially associates with and inserts into cell membranes in acidic microenvironments, enabling selective fluorescence labeling of acidic tumor cells and tumor stroma. It is being developed by pHLIP for fluorescence-guided cancer surgery, including intravenous intraoperative imaging in breast cancer and investigational intravesical imaging of urothelial carcinoma. Ex-vivo bladder studies reported high sensitivity and specificity for malignant urothelial lesions, including carcinoma in situ.
