phloroglucinol + simeticone

Météoxane is a fixed-dose combination small-molecule drug developed by Laboratoires IPRAD for the symptomatic treatment of functional intestinal disorders and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It consists of two active ingredients: phloroglucinol (80 mg), a non-atropinergic antispasmodic that acts directly on gastrointestinal smooth muscle to relieve spasms, and simeticone (125 mg), an antiflatulent that modifies the surface tension of gas bubbles in the digestive tract to facilitate their dispersion. The drug is primarily indicated for symptoms such as bloating, flatulence, and abdominal pain. It is available over-the-counter in France as oral capsules and has been evaluated in Phase 4 clinical trials for the management of painful exacerbations in patients with IBS.
