Phosphatidylserine + curcumin (also known as PSL-Cur or PSLs-Cur) is an investigational liposomal combination formulation developed by Pharmin USA. It consists of phosphatidylserine liposomes encapsulating curcumin, a natural polyphenol extracted from turmeric (*Curcuma longa*). This formulation is designed to enhance the oral bioavailability of curcumin, which typically suffers from poor gastrointestinal absorption. Preclinical studies in rat models of glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis have demonstrated that the combination significantly improves bone serum markers, mechanical strength, osteoprotegerin (OPG) gene expression, and cortical/trabecular bone mass, showing superior efficacy compared to alendronate. Its mechanism of action involves the inhibition of inflammatory mediators such as COX-1, COX-2, TNF, and lipoxygenase, alongside the modulation of bone remodeling pathways.
