Overview

PHR 160 is a standardized intranasal spray formulation containing an extract of *Rosa damascena* (Damask rose). Developed by researchers at the Alborz University of Medical Sciences, it has been primarily investigated as a supportive therapy for patients with COVID-19. The therapeutic rationale for PHR 160 lies in the phytochemical profile of *Rosa damascena*, which is rich in bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, and essential oils that possess anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and potential antiviral properties. The spray is intended for use as an adjunct to standard care to alleviate respiratory symptoms and modulate the local immune response in the upper respiratory tract. Clinical trials conducted during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic have evaluated its safety and efficacy in reducing the duration and severity of the disease.
