Overview

**PHR160** is an Iranian herbal inhalation spray developed for COVID-19-associated lung injury and respiratory impairment, including improvement of oxygen saturation. It is a chemically heterogeneous herbal formulation reported to contain cineole, menthol, saffron, safranal, and crocin. Product information describes CFTR activation as its proposed mechanism, intended to support airway-surface hydration through the cAMP-regulated chloride channel. PHR160 has been evaluated in multicenter randomized, blinded clinical studies in patients with COVID-19, including ClinicalTrials.gov study NCT04463420 sponsored by Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences.
