Overview

**PHT101** (also known as PGC-C12E-Terlipressin) is a novel subcutaneous formulation of **terlipressin**, a synthetic vasopressin analogue, designed for once-daily administration to treat ascites associated with liver cirrhosis. It incorporates proprietary drug delivery technologies, such as lipid conjugation (C12E), to extend the half-life and enable subcutaneous dosing, potentially improving patient convenience over intravenous formulations. Terlipressin acts as a selective agonist of **vasopressin V1 receptors** on vascular smooth muscle, inducing splanchnic vasoconstriction to reduce portal hypertension and ascites formation. Developed by LAT Pharma, it received **FDA Orphan Drug Designation** for ascites due to liver cirrhosis.[5][7][15]
