Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**PHY906** is an orally administered, pharmaceutical-grade four-herb botanical formulation developed from the traditional Chinese medicine formula Huang Qin Tang and subsequently renamed **YIV-906**. It contains standardized aqueous extracts of *Scutellaria baicalensis*, *Glycyrrhiza uralensis*, *Paeonia lactiflora*, and *Ziziphus jujuba*. PHY906 is being developed as a multi-target immunomodulatory and gastrointestinal cytoprotective adjunct to anticancer therapy, with the goal of enhancing antitumor activity while reducing chemotherapy- or chemoradiation-associated gastrointestinal toxicity. Clinical studies have evaluated PHY906 with capecitabine in pancreatic cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma, with irinotecan-based chemotherapy in colorectal cancer, and with chemoradiation in rectal cancer.
