Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Phylex bivalent vaccine is an investigational second-generation **mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccine** being developed by Phylex BioSciences as a booster candidate. The vaccine is described as a **bivalent** formulation directed against the **Delta and Omicron variants of SARS-CoV-2** and uses mRNA encoding a **self-assembling nanoparticle** that displays multiple copies of the viral **receptor-binding domain** antigen. Its intended mechanism is to induce neutralizing immune responses against the SARS-CoV-2 spike receptor-binding domain, thereby blocking viral interaction with **ACE2** and helping prevent COVID-19 caused by targeted variants, while the design goal also includes reducing antibodies that could enhance infection.
