Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Physiologica is a line of over-the-counter (OTC) nasal and ocular hygiene products developed and marketed by the Belgian healthcare company Qualiphar. The product range primarily consists of sterile saline solutions (sodium chloride) available in both isotonic (0.9%) and hypertonic (typically 2.3%) concentrations. These products are designed for the mechanical clearance of nasal passages, moisturizing the nasal mucosa, and providing relief from nasal congestion associated with the common cold, rhinitis, and sinusitis. Some specialized formulations, such as Physiologica Septinasal, include additional ingredients like copper sulfate and thyme extract to provide mild antiseptic and soothing properties. The solution works by thinning mucus and physically washing away allergens, irritants, and atmospheric pollutants from the nasal cavity or eyes. It is suitable for use in infants, children, and adults.
