Overview

This is a combination of two drugs: - **Physostigmine** is a reversible cholinesterase inhibitor that increases acetylcholine levels by inhibiting the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. It is primarily used to treat anticholinergic toxicity and has been studied for its effects on cognitive function due to its ability to enhance cholinergic neurotransmission. - **Thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH)**, also known as protirelin, is a tripeptide neurohormone produced in the hypothalamus. It stimulates the anterior pituitary gland to release thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and prolactin. TRH has been used diagnostically in evaluating thyroid function and has also been investigated for neurological indications such as spinocerebellar degeneration, disturbance of consciousness, depression, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and other CNS disorders[1][5][6][9]. The combination of physostigmine with thyrotropin-releasing hormone does not correspond to any approved pharmaceutical product or widely recognized brand name; it may be used experimentally or in research settings where both central cholinergic stimulation (via physostigmine) and hypothalamic-pituitary axis modulation (via TRH) are desired.
