Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SP-010 is a generic injectable formulation of phytonadione (Vitamin K1) developed by Sunny Pharmtech. As a fat-soluble vitamin, phytonadione serves as an essential cofactor for the microsomal enzyme gamma-glutamyl carboxylase. This enzyme is responsible for the post-translational carboxylation of glutamate residues on vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors, including Factor II (prothrombin), VII, IX, and X, as well as protein C and protein S. This process is critical for the ability of these proteins to bind calcium and participate in the coagulation cascade. SP-010 is indicated for the treatment of hypoprothrombinemia caused by vitamin K deficiency, malabsorption, or anticoagulant therapy, and for the prevention of hemorrhagic disease in neonates.
