Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Phytonail is a topical antifungal treatment specifically formulated for nail infections (onychomycosis). It's a mixture of herbal active ingredients including tea tree oil, lavender oil, and Australian blue cypress oil combined with a proprietary BioEqual carrier system[3]. The product was evaluated in a randomized clinical study comparing its efficacy to amorolfine 5% nail lacquer (Loceryl) for treating toenail onychomycosis. In this study, Phytonail was applied twice daily while amorolfine was applied once weekly for 16 weeks[3]. A preliminary trial showed promising results with a 100% KOH negative rate in 32 nails after 12 weeks of Phytonail therapy[3].
