Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Phytonormyl is a multi-ingredient dietary supplement developed by the French pharmaceutical company UPSA for the management of sleep disorders. The product features a unique tri-layer controlled-release tablet formulation containing melatonin, lemon balm (*Melissa officinalis*), and ashwagandha (*Withania somnifera*). The first layer releases melatonin rapidly (within 5 minutes) to facilitate falling asleep by regulating the circadian rhythm. The subsequent layers provide a prolonged release of ashwagandha for up to 8 hours to support sleep maintenance and relaxation. Indicated for adults, Phytonormyl is marketed as a non-addictive over-the-counter (OTC) solution to improve sleep quality and reduce nocturnal awakenings.
