Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pi-Yan-Ning is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine formulation used primarily for the external treatment of severe skin conditions, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN). It is applied topically to affected areas and has been reported in case studies to promote skin regeneration, reduce inflammation, relieve itching, burning, and tingling sensations, and support healing of damaged skin. The precise mechanism of action remains unclear due to limited clinical research; however, it is believed that the herbal components exert anti-inflammatory effects and may modulate immune responses in the skin. Further basic investigations and clinical trials are needed to fully elucidate its efficacy and mechanisms[1][3].
