Overview

**Picolin** is a Unani polyherbal formulation investigated for **polycystic ovarian syndrome**. The capsule formulation contains *Cinnamomum verum* bark, *Glycyrrhiza glabra* root, *Linum usitatissimum* seed, and *Vitex agnus-castus* seed. In a randomized multicenter 12-week study, oral Picolin capsules were evaluated against a hydroalcoholic-extract formulation called Picolin-E and metformin; Picolin was associated with reductions in serum insulin and prolactin and improvement in menstrual flow. Its precise molecular mechanism and primary pharmacologic targets have not been established.
