Overview
PICOZYMEQ is an aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) enzyme supplement being evaluated for the treatment of chemotherapy-related fatigue (CRF) in patients with advanced gastrointestinal cancer. The supplement is designed to mitigate oxidative stress by detoxifying reactive aldehydes, such as 4-hydroxynonenal (4-HNE) and malondialdehyde (MDA), which are toxic metabolites produced during lipid peroxidation induced by chemotherapy. By reducing the bioactivation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and eliminating these metabolites, PICOZYMEQ aims to protect cells from oxidative damage and alleviate the debilitating fatigue associated with cancer treatment. The product is currently being studied in an investigator-initiated, 2-period crossover Phase 2 trial at Korea University Anam Hospital.
