Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pictilisib is an investigational small molecule inhibitor targeting class I phosphatidylinositol 3-kinases (PI3K), with potent activity against the PI3Kα and PI3Kδ isoforms. It was developed for the treatment of various solid tumors and hematological malignancies. Pictilisib acts by inhibiting the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, which is frequently dysregulated in cancer and plays a critical role in cell growth, survival, proliferation, motility, and metabolism. The drug has shown promising responses in clinical trials for several cancer types including breast cancer (especially hormone receptor-positive subtypes), ovarian cancer, myeloma, melanoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and certain gastrointestinal cancers. Pictilisib has been evaluated both as monotherapy and in combination with other agents such as fulvestrant or paclitaxel[1][5][6][8].
