PIK-HER2 (Pluripotent Killer-Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor-2) cells are a novel form of adoptive cellular immunotherapy developed by the Second Military Medical University. This biologic therapy consists of pluripotent killer T cells engineered to target the Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2). It is specifically being evaluated for the treatment of patients with advanced HER2-positive gastric cancer, particularly those with liver metastasis. In clinical protocols, the therapy is often administered alongside dendritic cell (DC) injections to enhance the immune response. The PIK-HER2 cells are intended to induce targeted cytotoxicity against HER2-expressing tumor cells, leveraging the effector functions of the engineered T cells.
