Overview

Pimivalimab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor, functioning as an immune checkpoint inhibitor. By blocking PD-1, pimivalimab prevents its interaction with PD-L1 and PD-L2 ligands, thereby restoring T-cell activity and promoting anti-tumor immune responses. It is being developed primarily for the treatment of solid tumors, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and platinum-resistant ovarian cancer. Pimivalimab was originally developed by Jounce Therapeutics and is now under development by Concentra Biosciences. Clinical trials have evaluated its use both as monotherapy and in combination with other agents such as vopratelimab or JTX-8064[3][5][8]. The drug has demonstrated durable responses in some patients with advanced cancers but has not yet achieved regulatory approval.
