Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PingchuanYiqi (PCYQ) is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine formula administered as a granule for the treatment of acute asthma. In clinical studies, PCYQ has demonstrated the ability to significantly improve lung function, specifically morning and evening peak expiratory flow (PEF), and reduce asthma symptom scores. Its therapeutic effect is associated with the reduction of pro-inflammatory biomarkers, including interleukin-5 (IL-5), interleukin-8 (IL-8), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), and prostaglandin D2 (PGD2). It is typically used as an add-on or alternative to standard care to reduce the frequency of short-acting β2-agonist (SABA) use.
