Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pinorox is a proprietary, standardized botanical extract derived from the bark of *Pinus roxburghii* (Chir Pine), characterized by a high concentration of bioactive polyphenols, including taxifolin and proanthocyanidins. Developed by Pino Biologicals, it is primarily intended for topical dermatological applications to mitigate visible signs of facial aging such as wrinkles, fine lines, and hyperpigmentation (dark spots). The extract functions through a multi-modal mechanism: it acts as a potent antioxidant by scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS) to prevent oxidative stress-induced cellular damage, inhibits matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) to preserve the structural integrity of the dermal collagen matrix, and inhibits tyrosinase activity to regulate melanin production. Pinorox is currently being evaluated in clinical trials to assess its safety, efficacy, and tolerability as a cosmeceutical or therapeutic agent for skin rejuvenation.
