Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PINT (Photo Immuno Nano Therapy) is a proprietary photoimmunotherapy platform developed by PendreaBio that utilizes calcium-phosphate nanoparticles, termed "NanoJackets," to deliver indocyanine green (ICG) directly into cancer cells. The NanoJackets are designed to enter targeted cells via pinocytosis and release their cargo in response to intracellular pH changes. Upon irradiation with near-infrared (NIR) light, the encapsulated ICG generates reactive oxygen species (ROS), leading to direct photodynamic killing of the tumor cells. Additionally, the platform is reported to modulate the tumor microenvironment by targeting sphingosine kinase, which reduces inflammation and activates a T-cell-mediated immune response against the tumor. PINT is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), breast cancer, and pancreatic cancer.
