Piperazine ferulate (阿魏酸哌嗪) is a synthetic small molecule drug derived from the combination of piperazine and ferulic acid. It is primarily used in China as an oral medication for the adjunctive treatment of various kidney diseases characterized by microscopic hematuria and hypercoagulable states, such as nephritis (acute and chronic), early uremia in nephrotic syndrome, as well as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular conditions including coronary heart disease, cerebral infarction (stroke), and peripheral vascular disease. The drug exhibits anticoagulant and antiplatelet effects similar to aspirin but also has additional actions such as dilating peripheral microvessels, increasing coronary blood flow, relieving vasospasm, improving renal blood supply, reducing hypercoagulability of blood in glomerular diseases, and protecting renal function. It is not a hormone or steroidal agent; toxicity is low when used at recommended doses[2][6][8].
