Pipter-D

Pipter-D is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by Rantomo Lifesciences in India. It consists of 40mg of pantoprazole and 30mg of domperidone. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system at the secretory surface of the gastric parietal cell. Domperidone is a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist that functions as a prokinetic agent, increasing lower esophageal sphincter pressure and accelerating gastric emptying. The combination is primarily indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, gastritis, and peptic ulcers, particularly when symptoms of dyspepsia or delayed gastric emptying are present. It is available as a prolonged-release capsule and an injectable formulation.
