Overview

Tiopyram is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product containing the nootropic agent piracetam and the metabolic antioxidant morpholinium methylthiazotate (also known as thiotriazoline). Developed and manufactured by the Scientific-Medical Enterprise (Radiks) in Uzbekistan, it is primarily used for the treatment of cerebrovascular disorders. Piracetam, a cyclic derivative of GABA, acts as a nootropic by modulating glutamatergic neurotransmission and improving neuronal plasticity and microcirculation. Morpholinium methylthiazotate provides antioxidant protection, stabilizes neuronal membranes, and improves energy metabolism under ischemic conditions. The combination is indicated for the management of ischemic stroke, recovery from hemorrhagic stroke, and chronic cerebral circulatory insufficiency (encephalopathy).
