Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CyanVac, in collaboration with Immuno Technologies, is developing an intranasal live viral vector vaccine for the prevention of Lyme disease. The vaccine utilizes a proprietary parainfluenza virus 5 (PIV5) platform to deliver and express the Outer Surface Protein A (OspA) antigen of *Borrelia burgdorferi*, the primary causative agent of Lyme disease. Administered intranasally, the vaccine is designed to elicit both mucosal and systemic immune responses. Preclinical data published in 2024 demonstrated that a single intranasal dose provides durable protection for at least 15 months in murine models against tick-borne infection, showing superior longevity of neutralizing antibody responses compared to traditional subcutaneous recombinant protein vaccines.
