Overview
Pixu 2 decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by Xiyuan Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. It is specifically designed for the treatment of functional dyspepsia (FD) characterized by "Pixu" (spleen deficiency) patterns. In TCM theory, the spleen is central to digestion, and its deficiency leads to symptoms like bloating, early satiety, and epigastric pain. Pixu 2 is one of three experimental decoctions (alongside Pixu 1 and Pixu 3) used in differential diagnosis-based treatment protocols. It was evaluated in a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial in China to assess its efficacy and safety in relieving dyspeptic symptoms.
