Overview
PJ004 (also known as PN20) is a pegylated thrombopoietic peptide being developed by Chongqing Peg-Bio Biopharm for the treatment of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). It functions as a thrombopoietin receptor agonist (TPO-RA), designed to stimulate platelet production by binding to the thrombopoietin receptor (MPL) on megakaryocyte progenitor cells. As a pegylated biologic, it is intended for long-acting therapeutic effect and is administered via subcutaneous injection. In June 2024, the drug received approval from China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) to initiate clinical trials for primary ITP. It is currently undergoing Phase 1b clinical evaluation to assess its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary efficacy in adult patients.
