Designed as a long-acting basal insulin analogue for once-weekly subcutaneous administration, PJ021 acts as an agonist of the insulin receptor, mimicking endogenous insulin to regulate glucose metabolism, promote glucose uptake in peripheral tissues, and suppress hepatic glucose production. PJ021 is currently in Phase I clinical development in China.
