Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PKU GOLIKE® is a phenylalanine-free amino acid mixture developed by APR Applied Pharma Research (a subsidiary of Relief Therapeutics) for the dietary management of phenylketonuria (PKU). The product is engineered using the proprietary Physiomimic™ Technology, which creates a modified-release profile for the amino acids, allowing them to be absorbed in a manner that mimics natural dietary protein. This technology also serves to mask the characteristic unpleasant taste and odor of free amino acids, improving patient adherence. PKU GOLIKE is designed to support metabolic balance by reducing phenylalanine fluctuations and preventing muscle proteolysis. It is classified as a Food for Special Medical Purposes (FSMP) in the European Union and is marketed as a prescription medical food in the United States, where it also holds Orphan Drug Designation.
