Overview

PKX-001 is a glycopeptide, also referred to as an anti-aging glycoprotein (AAGP®), developed by ProtoKinetix. It is being investigated for its cardioprotective properties and its ability to enhance the health and survival of beta cells for transplantation, particularly in the context of type 1 diabetes. The drug aims to improve the durability of islet transplants and protect against the toxic effects of immunosuppressants like tacrolimus.
