PLAAT2 small interfering RNA-2 is an experimental RNA interference (RNAi) agent designed to specifically silence the expression of the phospholipase A and acyltransferase 2 (PLAAT2) gene. PLAAT2, also known as HRASLS2, is an enzyme involved in lipid metabolism that has been identified as a promoter of pancreatic cancer progression and a marker for chemotherapy resistance. By binding to and inducing the degradation of PLAAT2 mRNA, this siRNA inhibits the production of the PLAAT2 protein, thereby suppressing the proliferation and invasion of pancreatic cancer cells in laboratory models. It is primarily used as a research tool to investigate the functional role of PLAAT2 and its potential as a therapeutic target in oncological settings.
