Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination of a placebo and fluticasone furoate. Fluticasone furoate is a synthetic trifluorinated corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory activity, primarily used as an inhaled or intranasal agent for the maintenance treatment of asthma and allergic or non-allergic rhinitis. It acts by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor, modulating gene expression to suppress inflammatory mediators and immune cell activation, thereby reducing airway inflammation and symptoms associated with respiratory diseases. The "placebo" component refers to an inactive substance included in clinical trials for comparison purposes; it has no pharmacological effect.
