Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PlantForm's PEDv vaccine is an experimental veterinary biologic developed for the prevention of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDv) in swine. Utilizing the company's proprietary vivoXpress® plant-based protein expression platform, the vaccine is designed to produce recombinant viral antigens (likely the Spike protein or subunits thereof) in *Nicotiana benthamiana* plants. This approach aims to provide a cost-effective and scalable solution to combat PEDv, a highly contagious coronavirus that causes severe enteritis, vomiting, and high mortality rates in neonatal piglets. The program is currently in the early stages of development within PlantForm's animal health pipeline.
