Plasma Eye Drops (Kamada) is a topical biologic therapy derived from human plasma, specifically developed for the treatment of severe ocular surface diseases such as dry eye syndrome (DES), corneal epithelial defects, and ocular graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). Unlike conventional artificial tears, these drops contain a complex milieu of biologically active components found in human plasma, including growth factors (such as EGF, TGF-β, and PDGF), vitamins, fibronectin, and immunoglobulins. These constituents mimic the biochemical properties of natural tears, promoting corneal epithelial cell proliferation, migration, and wound healing while providing anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial support. Kamada's product is typically a standardized, allogeneic plasma-derived solution, offering a consistent alternative to patient-specific autologous serum eye drops.
