Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Plastubol-PP is a topical spray-on plastic bandage (liquid dressing) developed and marketed by PannonPharma. It is composed of a copolymer of acrylic and methacrylic acid esters dissolved in organic solvents such as ethyl acetate and acetone. Upon application to the skin, the solvents evaporate to leave a transparent, flexible, waterproof, and air-permeable film. This film acts as a physical barrier to protect surgical wounds, minor cuts, and abrasions from bacterial contamination and external irritants while allowing the underlying skin to breathe. It is also utilized for skin protection around stomas and to secure other dressings. In its home market of Hungary, it is registered as a medicinal product (ATC code D02AD).
