Platanus acerifolia allergen extract is derived from the pollen of the London plane tree (*Platanus acerifolia*, also known as *Platanus x hispanica*). [4, 8] It is used both for the diagnosis of allergies, typically via skin prick tests, and for allergen-specific immunotherapy to treat conditions like allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, and asthma triggered by this pollen. [4, 8, 10, 16] Allergen immunotherapy aims to induce immune tolerance and reduce the severity of allergic symptoms by gradually exposing the patient's immune system to the allergen. The extract contains multiple allergenic proteins, with Pla a 1, Pla a 2, and Pla a 3 being major allergens recognized by the immune systems of sensitized individuals. [4, 5] The clinical trial provided in the context (NCT01739322), sponsored by LETI Pharma, focuses on the biological standardization of the extract for use as a reference preparation. [12]
