Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Platelet- and extracellular vesicle-rich plasma (PVRP) is a blood-derived product with concentrations of platelets and extracellular vesicles (EVs) higher than normal blood concentrations. It represents an advancement in autologous regenerative therapeutics by harnessing both platelets and their released EVs. While platelets release growth factors that promote tissue repair, the EVs can cross tissue barriers that platelets cannot, allowing for delivery of bioactive molecules to areas like lymphatic system, bone marrow, and synovial fluid. PVRP is prepared through specific centrifugation protocols from a patient's own blood.
