Platelet-poor plasma (PPP) is a blood-derived product obtained by centrifuging whole blood to separate it into its components. It is the plasma fraction that remains after the removal of platelets and red blood cells. [2, 6] While its counterpart, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), is concentrated with growth factors and widely used for tissue regeneration, PPP has a lower concentration of platelets and growth factors and is often used as a placebo or control arm in clinical trials evaluating PRP. [3, 7, 19] However, PPP itself is being investigated for certain therapeutic applications. It can act as a biological scaffold for cell delivery, be used as a tissue sealant due to its fibrinogen content, or serve as a source of other therapeutic proteins like alpha-2-macroglobulin (A2M) for treating low back pain. [1, 2, 5, 12, 18]
