Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is a second-generation autologous platelet concentrate obtained from a patient's own blood through centrifugation without the addition of anticoagulants or bovine thrombin. It consists of a fibrin matrix polymerized in a tetra-molecular structure that traps platelets, leukocytes, and cytokines.
