Overview

This is a topical cosmetic cream formulation containing autologous platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) developed by the Poznan University of Medical Sciences for the treatment of skin ageing. PRF is a second-generation platelet concentrate obtained from the patient's own blood, containing a high concentration of platelets, leukocytes, and growth factors such as Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF), Transforming Growth Factor-beta (TGF-β), and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) within a three-dimensional fibrin matrix. The cream is designed to promote skin rejuvenation by stimulating collagen production, enhancing angiogenesis, and facilitating tissue repair mechanisms. Clinical evaluation in a phase 2 trial (NCT07359924) has demonstrated improvements in skin hydration, elasticity, and barrier function, as evidenced by a significant decrease in transepidermal water loss (TEWL).
