Overview

Platelet-rich fibrin matrix (PRFM) is an autologous biologic material derived from a patient's own blood through a specialized two-step centrifugation process that concentrates platelets within a dense fibrin scaffold without the use of exogenous thrombin. Unlike traditional platelet-rich plasma (PRP), PRFM preserves the integrity of platelets and provides a stable matrix that allows for the sustained, localized release of growth factors—such as platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)—over several days. This sustained release promotes angiogenesis, fibroblast proliferation, and collagen synthesis, making it effective for tissue regeneration, wound healing, and aesthetic applications like skin rejuvenation and hair restoration.
