Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PLEXARIS OS is an allogeneic, human donor-derived, platelet-derived extracellular vesicle (EV) biologic developed by Exopharm Limited. The product consists of naïve (unengineered) exosomes purified using the company's proprietary Ligand-based Exosome Affinity Purification (LEAP) technology. PLEXARIS OS was investigated for its potential to accelerate wound healing and reduce scar formation following subcutaneous administration to punch-biopsy wounds. A Phase 1, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study in healthy adults assessed the safety and tolerability of the product. Development was subsequently discontinued as Exopharm shifted its focus away from naïve EV programs.
