Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PLG-101 is a first-in-class monoclonal antibody developed by Polygon Therapeutics that targets CD8+ T cells to treat acute immune-related cardiovascular disease, specifically acute myocardial infarction (MI). The drug is designed to be administered as a single injection during the reperfusion procedure to modulate the specific immune response that occurs during MI, thereby enhancing post-ischemic cardiac remodeling. Preclinical studies in in vivo models have demonstrated that PLG-101 can reduce infarct size by 60% and improve heart function by 25% without significant side effects. It is the lead candidate of Polygon's CARDINAL cardioimmunology platform.
